Jeff Short is the proud owner of SERVPRO of Ames, a company dedicated to providing top-notch restoration services. He holds multiple certifications from the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Certification (IICRC) in key areas such as water damage restoration, mold remediation, and fire damage restoration. These credentials reflect his commitment to maintaining the highest industry standards.

A firm believer in honesty and hard work, Jeff has built a reputation for reliability and integrity in his business dealings. His deep-rooted involvement in the community includes active participation in the local Catholic Church and membership in the Knights of Columbus, where he contributes to various charitable activities and community outreach programs.

Outside of his professional commitments, Jeff cherishes spending quality time with his family. He is passionate about coaching youth sports, particularly baseball and football, and sharing invaluable life lessons and skills with young athletes. An avid outdoorsman, he loves fishing and enjoys the tranquility of nature. Moreover, Jeff is a devoted fan of the Chicago Cubs, often cheering for his favorite team and celebrating their successes. Through both his personal and professional life, Jeff Short exemplifies dedication to community, family, and his chosen profession.

Kris is the General Manager for SERVPRO Team Short. He joined our team in late 2025. He brings years of experience in Business Development.

I enjoy the opportunity to lead strong teams in making a meaningful impact in the community. Each day presents new challenges, and I take pride in guiding our team through complex restoration projects with an emphasis on efficiency and a customer-focused mindset. What I find most rewarding is helping homeowners and businesses recover after unexpected disasters, transforming stressful situations into positive outcomes through teamwork, transparent communication, and dependable service. Witnessing our teams grow professionally while delivering exceptional results for our customers is what makes this role truly fulfilling.

Jeff is the Director of Sales & Marketing for SERVPRO Team Short. He joined our team in 2022. He brings years of experience in Business Development.

In his free time, Jeff enjoys watching freestyle wrestling, spending time with his family, and snowmobiling!

Jeff enjoys working at SERVPRO because he knows we are helping people and making a difference in people's lives in a time of need.

Lori Newhouse is our Operations Manager at SERVPRO of Marshalltown. She has over ten years of experience in office operations and customer service. She has spent time in the field as a SERVPRO Tech, which gives her experience in water and fire restoration as well as demolition and reconstruction work. Lori believes in always staying positive and loves to cheer on the team at SERVPRO.

In her free time, she loves hanging out with her family, spending time playing with her dog, and doing DIY projects around the house. She is involved in youth sports and supports animal rehabilitation and rescue.

Mariah is the Construction Coordinator for our construction division for SERVPRO Team Short. She joined our team in 2025. He brings 10+ years of experience in project coordination.

In her free time, Mariah enjoys baking and trying out new recipes, often sharing her creations with friends and family. She values spending quality time with loved ones, whether during game nights or outdoor adventures.

Professionally, Mariah finds fulfillment in guiding homeowners through their projects, from planning to execution. She takes pride in helping them turn their visions into reality, making each step of the process rewarding.

Brian is a Commercial Mitigation Manager at SERVPRO of Ames. He joined our team in 2024. Brian is IICRC Water and Fire Restoration Certified.

In his free time, Brian enjoys working on hot rods and spending time with his family.

Brian appreciates working at SERVPRO because he gets to be part of a team that helps people during difficult times.

Jill is a Production Manager at SERVPRO of Ames. She joined our team in August of 2024. Jill is IICRC Water Restoration Certified.

Outside of work, Jill enjoys cooking and spending time with her family and friends.

Connor is our Construction Project Manager for our construction division for SERVPRO Team Short. He joined our team in 2025. He brings 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager in the building and remodeling industry.

In his free time, Connor enjoys playing sports such as golf, basketball, and slow-pitch softball. Alongside his outdoor activities, he cherishes spending time with his family.

Connor appreciates the fast-paced environment at SERVPRO, where each day presents new challenges. He finds joy in seeing projects completed at a high level by our reconstruction team.

Preston is a General Superintendent for our construction division for SERVPRO Team Short. He joined our team in 2025. He brings 7+ years of experience in the industry.

In his free time, Preston enjoys going out on the golf course, hitting the gym, and coaching wrestling. Along with these activities, he values spending time with friends and family, especially when grilling.

Preston takes pleasure in the daily grind of his job. He looks forward to showing up every day to work with the recon team, as they bring smiles to people's faces each day.

David is a Crew Lead for our construction division for SERVPRO Team Short. He joined our team in 2025. He brings 10+ years of experience in residential remodeling.

In his free time, Dave is an outdoorsman who enjoys fishing, archery, hunting, and golfing. If it involves the outdoors, you can count on David to be there. Aside from his outdoor activities, he loves being a dad and spending time with his two daughters.

David thrives on the daily hustle and challenges, finding satisfaction in completing tasks and helping make people's dreams a reality.

Trent is a team member of our construction division for SERVPRO Team Short. He joined our team in 2025. He brings multiple years of experience in remodeling.

In his free time, Trent enjoys dedicating hours to working on his truck, often taking on projects that enhance its performance and appearance. He loves being outdoors and frequently spends weekends fishing at local lakes or golfing with friends at nearby courses.

Additionally, he thrives on teamwork, relishing the opportunity to collaborate with his colleagues to tackle various challenges and achieve their goals together.

Jonathan is a team member of our construction division for SERVPRO Team Short. He joined our team in 2025. He has multiple years of remodeling experience. He also spent 3+ years at DMACC learning the industry.

Outside of work, Jonathan is passionate about several hobbies that bring him joy and fulfillment. He spends countless hours customizing and repairing his truck, taking pride in the hands-on work. Music is another significant part of his life; he enjoys playing various instruments, with a particular love for the keyboard, where he expresses his creativity through melodies and tunes.

He loves being able to turn a distory in to something amazing. He strives to make things "Like It Never Even Happened."
