Waterproofing
The process of making an area of a property water-resistant or protected from water or moisture intrusion from rain, flooding, or other environmental means. Waterproofing involves applying certain construction techniques, building materials and/or chemical treatments to structures to prevent water damage.
Example: Waterproofing protects buildings from the harmful effects of moisture, like mold, decay, and structural weakening. The most critical areas for waterproofing are basements, roofs, windows, and wet areas like bathrooms and kitchens.
