Gutter
A gutter is a channel attached to the eaves of a roof to divert water away from a home’s foundation. Gutters are made of various materials, but they’re usually fabricated from vinyl, copper, or aluminum.
A gutter is often called a downspout, but the downspout is actually the vertical part of the gutter system that carries water down the side of the home and diverts it away from the foundation.
Example: Gutter systems are a vital part of any home, particularly in areas that see a lot of rain. Working properly, they protect the property from erosion, water damage, mold growth, and more.
