SERVPRO serves the Small town of Waterloo, South Carolina
This small quaint incorporated town – is an independent municipality and serves a small community on the south side of Laurens County. The town has less than two hundred people – so the small-town feel is evident when you drive through this beautiful community. The town was chartered in 1855 and served as stop along the Port Royal & Western Carolina Railway. Most of the historic buildings in the Town of Waterloo are still standing. The Bank of Waterloo opened in 1913 and remained in operation until 1931 after the Great Depression. Many other commercial companies brought this community alive around the turn of the century with cotton gins and seed oil mills. Cotton crops were a big part of this community and brought a multitude of jobs to the community and helped this small town thrive. But like most small communities in South Carolina when Interstate 26 opened in the early 1960’s – travelers no longer passed through Waterloo which resulted in most business closing. The remnants of these buildings remain standing as a reminder of a life in more prosperous times.

SERVPRO of Newberry and Laurens helped my family tremendously when we needed our carpets cleaned. Their worker was friendly and on time and made the whole experience a pleasant one. They even took an oriental rug to their facility to clean it and returned it promptly. Kimberly and Mel have a wonderful community spirit and volunteer and help wherever needed. I highly recommend their SERVPRO services!
