Nestled in the hills that overlook the Yadkin Valley, Pfafftown is a small, quite community located in Forsyth County, North Carolina. They are a small unincorporated community with just over 2,000 residents. The name Pfafftown came from Peter Pfaff Sr. He bought a tract of land west of the Muddy Creek, which later became the Village of Pfafftown. Pfaff’s house, the John Schaub House, and the Weller House are both listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
To preserve their 200-year-old community, the village tried to no avail to incorporate. This was done to try to prevent the neighboring larger municipalities from annexing them. Despite this, there are just over 2,000 residents that call Pfafftown home. Despite being a small bedroom community, Pfafftown has many great advantages. First, it’s mere minutes from many of the larger cities in the area.
