Mira Loma Spanish for (“Hill View) is now officially part of Jurupa valley, was a census designated place in Riverside CA. In 1882 Mira Loma was known as Stalder and in subsequent years several other names prior to Mira Loma.
In the early 1930's, the dairymen and wineries began to develop here. Now, there are few dairies and wineries left. Galleano Winery is the main one left in the area.
Originally part of Rancho Cucamonga Valley with the area becoming a portion of the Jurupa Valley more recently.
On March 8 2011 voters in this area approved the merging of Glen Avon, Rubidoux, Mir Loma, Pedley, Summerslope into one city of Jurupa Valley.
Mira Loma has grown over time, with may new and younger families adding to the population. While growth has been significant, there is still a small town feel and sense of community
The area like other towns in the area have a history in farming and ranches, in fact its not uncommon to see individuals and families horseback riding through the neighborhoods.
Vernola Park has playgrounds, picnic areas and baseball fields as a gathering place for community events .
Mira Loma is part of the Jurupa Valley Unified School District , providing elementary, middle and high school learning experince
