Maricopa, Arizona is in the Gila River Valley within Pinal County with a population of approximately 73,729. It officially became a city on October 15th, 2003, and is the 88th incorporated municipality in the state. It’s had a few names/locations over the years including Maricopa Wells, Maricopaville, and Maricopa Junction. It is one of the oldest and most historic communities in Arizona.
Maricopa started as an oasis around a series of watering holes eight miles north of present-day Maricopa. Many of Arizona’s rivers abundantly supplied the oasis.
Maricopa Wells was a major stagecoach relay station in the 1850s and 1860s. Nearly every resident worked for the stagecoach line or trading center. From 1948 through the 1960s farming and ranching became the heart of the economy. Aside from cotton, there were crops of pecans, alfalfa, peas, citrus, and melons.
Maricopa is located on the Union Pacific Railroad Line. It’s the closest stop to Phoenix. The Maricopa Station opened in 2001 and was originally in a converted passenger train car.
The climate in Maricopa is much like other areas in Pinal County, having hot and dry summers, and mild winters. Let’s not forget about the Monsoon season which can bring about flash flooding and very strong winds. The Ak-Chin Indian Community is within part of the city's boundaries. The tribe is responsible for developing Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino and a multi-entertainment center. Additionally, the Ak-Chin Regional Airport is operated by the tribe.
Some areas of interest are the Maricopa Train Museum, The Duke at Rancho El Dorado golf course, and a variety of restaurants to choose from.
Today, Maricopa has some great parks such as Copper Sky Regional Park (the largest with the most to offer), Pacana Park, and Lake View Park.
Notable People: In the 1950s John “The Duke” Wayne bought 4,00 acres of farmland spanning between Maricopa and Stanfield. He became partners with Louis Johnson, who was managing Wayne’s farm at the time. In Maricopa, they both have roads named after them, John Wayne Parkway and Louis Johnson Drive.

What our Maricopa customers are saying
We had an absolutely OUTSTANDING experience with SERVPRO of Casa Grande after our home was heavily vandalized by tenants in April of 2025. From the very first appointment, their team responded quickly and treated our situation with professionalism and confidence. Sam immediately put us at ease, answered all our questions, and guided us through the insurance process- often handling difficult parts on our behalf. What we thought would be the end of us because something Sam immediately took charge of, and the final result turned out a hundred times better than we ever imagined possible.
Because we live over an hour away, trusting someone with our home was a bid decision, but SERVPRO exceeded every expectation. The mitigation was completed quickly, and the rebuild team did an exceptional job. Mikes attention to detail and craftmanship truly show throughout the home, and Jennifer in the office kept us informed every step of the way with clean and timely communication.
As first time homeowners facing a worst-case scenario crisis, we honestly don't know what we would have done without SERVPRO. Their teamwork, expertise, and care turned an overwhelming situation into a smooth and successful rebuild. we are incredibly grateful and HIGHLY recommend them to anyone in need of restoration work!
Thank you so much SERVPRO! God bless you all!
Why would anyone put their home in the hands of unskilled professionals? This is the only team you will EVER need.
With how fast the disaster damaged my home, I was grateful to see a team of professionals that worked to restore it just as quickly. Excellent job.
Your team not only worked to get my apartment back to the way it should be, but also had technicians working in many other units through the building. Even if they don’t say it, I’ll thank you from all of us.
Grateful for the care and consideration your crew had with some of our priceless belongings that could have gotten damaged by the disaster. Very satisfied customer here.
Allow me to join in with the other positive reviews here. Your impressive team has earned their reputation and accolades. Very, very professional.
Hi, Thank you so much for helping out my sister and my nephew with his cleaning. He called me that night to tell me you were so nice to him and the furniture looks great. He was very happy with the outcome. Thank you for the extra effort you put in him for him. You made his day.
Gratefully, Molly
We are incredibly thankful for Sam and his entire team at SERVPRO. This process has been a long and difficult one, but Sam has gone above and beyond to help us through it. He is extremely knowledgeable in all he has done and we wouldn't have been able to get through this vandalism without him. Thank you so much.
Your staff was very prompt and very professional. They showed up the day they said they would and cleaned up after themselves. I would not hesitate to recommend your company to others.
